“The Lucky One” by Nicholas Sparks is a novel of excitement, romance and destiny.
When Logan Thibault, a U.S. marine, finds a picture of a young woman buried in the dirt while he was stationed in Iraq, he starts having good luck.
After he returns to the States, he sets out across the country to find the lady in the picture, feeling like he owes her something.
On this path, he runs into a nice woman named Elizabeth and starts to fall for her. It turns out to be a very romantic story about these two and their love for each other.
He keeps the story of the picture and his new luck a secret as he and Elizabeth fall madly for each other. Thibault’s secret soon threatens to tear them apart and destroy their love and maybe even their lives.
The main character, Logan, is like every girl’s dream man. He is mysterious but passionate, private and respectful. He is pretty serious at first but during the book he starts to loosen up.
While reading the book you get a butterfly feeling in your stomach because of how he describes their love for each other. It really makes you wonder if the right person is out there for you.
Toward the end the story takes a fatal twist, which really makes you emotional and you can’t believe what happened. You get a sense of relief but sadness and happiness all at the same time.
Elizabeth is a nice and warm person that everyone knows and loves but she is untouchable in the little town of Hampton in North Carolina.
She is a very beautiful woman but her ex husband is the town sheriff who is always keeping an eye on what she does.
Logan ends up falling in love with her without out knowing how naïve she is when it comes to love. She is very loving but she keeps her distance at first because she was pretty skeptical on what to think of Logan. She has a son named Ben that she would give her life for so she is very motherly, and she’s also taking care of Nana, her grandmother.
This book is by far one of the best books I have read. It’s also a very easy book to read and if you like romantic novels, this book will blow your mind.
Nicholas Sparks has a way of writing so beautifully that it really gets you into the book, to the point where you can’t put it down.
You really get attached to the characters and by the end of the you feel like you really know them, especially Zeus, Logan’s dog, because he is just so adorable and also a very loyal friend.
And when it comes to Elizabeth’s ex husband, Keith Clayton, you really don’t like him because of what he does but at the end you actually feel bad for him because of the surprise that happens.
By the end of the novel, you really fall in love with the idea of love at first sight.
